Gary Sloboda

Mr. Sloboda is a litigator and trial lawyer whose practice focuses on the representation of clients in business, construction and real estate disputes. He has defended and prosecuted a wide range of business and real estate matters, ranging from breach of contract claims arising out of commercial real estate and business transactions to business torts, including fraud, interference with business relationships, and unfair competition claims. His practice includes representing clients in construction defect disputes and in all aspects of construction payment claims litigation, including the prosecution of delay and impact claims. Mr. Sloboda also represents clients in appellate and writ matters before the California Courts of Appeal and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Recently, Mr. Sloboda served as second chair trial counsel in the successful defense of an antitrust action in United States District Court for Northern California, in which the plaintiffs were seeking tens of millions of dollars in damages, as well as punitive damages. The plaintiffs in this two month jury trial alleged an attempted monopoly in the procurement of public works contracts. He also served as trial counsel in a three week jury trial in state court, obtaining a substantial jury verdict in regard to his subcontractor client's delay and impact claim against a general contractor on a large public works project.
